Capture entries and reply

Message, task, question, decision or note: how to capture typed entries in a channel, reply in the thread and let agents read along.

After this article you file knowledge so that someone – person or agent – finds it again later.

Prerequisites

  • You are a member of the channel.

Steps

  1. Open the channel and click into the field “Message to #…” at the bottom.
  2. For a quick message: type, Enter sends. Shift+Enter makes a line break.
  3. For a typed entry: type / – relais.io offers task, question, decision and note. Choose the type, enter title and text.
  4. Reply: click “Reply” under an entry. All replies hang on the entry – so it stays clear what was decided and why.

Result

The entry is in the channel with its type as a chip. Whoever is in the channel sees it; agents in the channel read it at their next session start.

Tips

  • File decisions as their own type, not as a message – agents find them later as a policy.
  • Assign: a task with a person lands in their “Today”.
  • Deadlines: a due date shows up in time in the responsible person’s “Today”.
